A Night Tide of PESTILENT DEATH!

    In my moronitude I assumed PESTILENT DEATH to be old school thrash. No , they are not! PESTILENT DEATH drop a bulldozer heavy load of elephant guts right on top of you with their heavy , heavy Death Metal plague. I don't know how these newer bands record their music but the stuff I heard from PESTILENT DEATH sounds better than some cds I have that were recorded in studios! And they play music that justifies them having such a thick sound. Don't get me wrong though they do get fast and are not pure doom death and thank god there is no pigsquealing! Vocals are deep and guttural and evoke images of green gassy swamps or a blue tinged foggy old graveyard with skeletal zombies slowly erupting from the grave.......instead of a pig getting fucked up the ass by a slaughterhouse employee.

    PESTILENT DEATH hail from L.A. , California which seems like it has a good Metal scene these days with some dedicated fans and bands and hopefully a good place for PESTILENT DEATH to grow and hone their Metal skills. Their current line up consists of Ominous taking care of guitar and bass duty while Vermin is in charge of drums and vocals , and I think it's awesome when the drummer handles vocals! EXCITER , DECEASED , and NOCTURNUS were great bands where the drummer did vocals! Hope they do get a good bassist to round out their live performances. Their upcoming e.p. will be titled 'The Art Of Torture' which is a simple , direct , and descriptive title for their style of merciless death.
