GIANT SPIDER INVASION review

I've set shit filled landmines and steel beartraps dipped in mercury and unholy water in strategic position around my hose. No film makers and their giant fuzzy fake spiders are getting near my front door! I clicked on this episode on a whim and it has jumped onto my to 10 , but it didn't do it right away , and I'm watching it right now and it's even better than the last time I saw it! It's the MST3K riffing that makes this movie , Mike and the bots dust it off , prop it up , shine a light on it and shout , "Check out how much fun we make of this crappy movie!" And they sure do! But maybe you like GIANT SPIDER INVASION , perhaps you saw it when you were a kid and it stuck with you and you still like it , but really it sux , and the insults Mike and the bots lay down on this sucky movie come hard and fast and they rip on all the characters , the lame and flimsy storyline , Wisconsin , and the Giant Spiders themselves!
The Giant Spider is ridiculous but at least it's a real prop , it's there with the people and it's chasing them down mainstreet.
Plus this episode has one of the longer skits of Mike and the bots being taken over by zucchini pod throw pillows sent to them by the evil Pearl and her hench person Brainguy. It's a much more interesting and exciting story then the one in Giant Spider Invasion. And in the beginning you get to see Tom Servo dressed up like a cheerleader!
Without the MST3K rifftrack GIANT SPIDER INVASION is watchable if you like all these movies but I found a Special 2 disc Directors cut Edition on amazon for $90.00!?!? I guess a special edition would be cool for a goof if it was $10.00 , but $90.00? No way man! It is also on the MST3K  collection volume 10.2 but that is $35.00 and then there's the Retromedia Entertainment version that has extra features and a 4 page comic but that one is $30.00. as you can plainly see your only sensible avenue would be to watch it on youtube , MST3K style. That is if you are sensible. If anyone does buy the $90.00 special edition I salute you sir or madame. Starring Alan Hale Jr. aka skipper from Giligans Island. -arty
